Tiny Giants Announces Opening of Brewery & Taproom

Tiny Giants Owners Yessica Rosales and Steve Beaudin

Since mid-June of 2025, Tiny Giants Brewing has run it’s production-only brewery in the former Gorges Brewing space on SE Ankeny, but come Friday, they’ll softly open their own taproom & brewery on NE Dekum in the space previously occupied by Mutantis Brewing and Hi-Wheel Fizzy Wine before it.

With their grand opening slated for Saturday, April 25th (12-10pm), the new taproom will feature 12 taps, 8 of which will be flowing with Tiny Giants creations, plus a steady Saison offering (Funky Fauna is expected to be a mainstay), locally sourced cider, kombucha, and a local brewery filling out the remaining four taps.

Tiny Giants is owned by head brewer Steve Beaudoin, his partner Yessica Rosales (accounting & management), and a close friend of Steve’s, Sam Laudati. Since opening last year, they’ve also brought on Morgan Clark, previously at Wayfinder Beer and Trap Door Brewing, as a brewer.

The do-it-yourself ethos and vision that lies at the heart of this nascent enterprise sets it apart from most new breweries today. They carry little to no debt, have secured their equipment from other small breweries of a similar size, and have built out & remodeled the taproom themselves, along with help from friends.

Those familiar with Steve’s work can speak to his wealth of experience having worked in most every capacity possible. His passion for brewing began with his father who was a homebrewer while growing up in Connecticut. There he began his career in the beer industry working for a mobile canning company on the East Coast, covering a territory stretching from the mid-Atlantic to Massachusetts.

Arriving in Portland in 2016, he went to work for Cascade Brewing for 3 years, followed by another stint of over 3 years at Old Town Brewing, then becoming head brewer of Fracture Brewing from 2022-2024. In addition to working occasionally for Day One Distribution and briefly at Great Notion NW, Steve’s work ethic and determination to open his own place seemed only a matter time.

For Steve, his focus has always been first and foremost about making quality, drinkable beer that can be appreciated not only by the industry at large, but also the everyday person. While Tiny Giant’s repertoire focuses primarily on a rotating set of Hazy & West Coast IPAs, they also offer a variety of classic styles including Pale Ales, Lagers, a Red, and even fruited seasonals such as a Pumpkin Ale and a Cucumber Lager.

Beyond the liquid inside, their beers are adorned by some of the best artists creating labels today, including Showdeer, Lorewood Creatives, and Cody Brown Design. The can art they’re putting on display matches Steve’s whimsical and playful nature including fantastic creatures, aliens, lobsters, and more. All of their marketing and social media presence is guided by Jenny Mann and Jenna Carbonell.

Tiny Giants new production facility was primarily sourced from the former G-Man Brewery in Tualatin including a 10bbl brewhouse and six 10bbl uni-tank fermenters. They’re also looking to procure some 15bbl fermenters from Away Days and are already looking to purchase 2 more 20bbl tanks.

Last year they produced 373 barrels of beer and are looking to at least double those numbers this year. As of yet there are no ambitions to ramp up production beyond ensuring a steady supply for the taproom and keep consistent the amount they’ve been sending to distribution. While the brewhouse has yet to go online, that is expected to happen soon, likely within the next month.

Located at the corner of NE 18th Ave and NE Dekum, Tiny Giants is surrounded by an abundance of food options including the original Tamale Boy & Ranch Pizza locations, both located next door. Across the street you’ll find Lil’ Barbecue and Tough Luck, plus the original Breakside Dekum location.

Their taproom will feature inside seating, plus covered and uncovered patio seating. Minors are allowed on premise until 9pm and the location is dog friendly. Following the soft opening this weekend (Friday-Sunday, and potentially Monday in celebration of 420), hours of operation are anticipated to be Wednesday-Thursday 3-10pm and Friday-Sunday 12-10pm.

I look forward to seeing you there to celebrate this exciting new brewery!
