Brews For New Avenues 11th Year Poised to be Biggest Yet

As the world’s largest rare beer auction has continued to grow each and every year, the time has finally come to move into a bigger space. This year’s iteration of Brews For New Avenues VIP and General Sessions on Saturday, and Friday’s Oysters & Guezue event will all be held under a much larger roof this year at The Redd on Salmon Street, at 831 SE Salmon St.

This year’s event also celebrates the 25th Anniversary of it’s non-profit benefactor, New Avenues For Youth, who’s work has benefited over 300,000 young people in Portland by providing prevention and intervention programs with the goal of ending youth homelessness. Over the previous 10 years of Brews For New Avenues, all their events combined have raised over 1.4 million dollars, all put towards New Avenues For Youth’s mission.

With the event ramping up in size from the Left Bank Annex to The Redd East Event Space – which will include a tented outdoor space, live music, disc golf, food vendors and more – the availability of tickets and volunteer opportunities this close to the event are even greater than ever!

This Saturday, August 27th, the VIP Session will run from 1-4 PM. Admission includes commemorative glassware, 15 drink tokens for draft and bottle pours from some of our favorite breweries around the world, delicious food, access to bid on dozens of rare beer auction packages, an 11th Anniversary Brews for New Avenues T-Shirt, and access to the General Admission session immediately following. Tickets are $150 each.

The General Admission Session will run from 4-8 PM, with admission including commemorative glassware, 4 drink tokens, access to the wall of beer, the live auction, food carts, and live music – our friends Hans and the Wanted will be performing outside after the live auction ends! Tickets are $20 each.

For the Oyster & Gueuze Social on August 26th, they’re holding one larger session from 3-6 PM at The Redd. Admission includes draft and bottle pours of only the best Lambic paired with fresh Pacific Northwest oysters, plus heavy appetizers and access to bid on items in a small silent auction. Tickets are $100 each.

In the interim, Brews For New Avenues is once again offering an Online Auction with an abundance of rare bottles including 2 sets of 6 Floodland bottles & and 2 Oakworks Membership invites, individual large format bottles, and so much more. The auction is active now through Thursday at Noon, Pacific time – happy bidding!

The main events on Saturday will feature more breweries than ever before with over 50 local, national, and international breweries on offer. Two of those breweries, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales and Logsdon Brewing, are this year’s featured breweries.

Hailing from Capitola & Santa Cruz, California, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales is well known the world over for their barrel-aged mixed fermentation creations, but those who delve deeper into their catalog will find they make incredible products across the entire beer spectrum. Adair, Tim, and their staff are some of the nicest and most authentic people in the business, and we’re beyond excited to have them as our out-of-town guests!

One of our favorite long-time local supporters and frequent VIP guest pourers, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales remains a steadfast staple of the Pacific Northwest scene. Their brews run the gamut from standard bearers like Peche ‘n Brett to finely tuned lagers and classic IPAs. John, Jodie, Shilpi and Mark are some of the most genuine and generous people around, and we’re thrilled to have them on board for 2022.

I also hear that the Wall of Beer will be back and better than ever with more bottles available than in years past, plus the return of more silent auction items and packages, plus plenty of live auction bottles, packages, and special experiences you’ll find on offer nowhere else in the world. Since its inception, Brews for New Avenues has raised more than $1.4 Million for New Avenues for Youth, a Portland nonprofit serving youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness, with a focus on prevention.
