Pink Boots Tap Takeover & Panel Discussion Thursday
Each year the packed schedule of PDX Beer Week can often cause larger events to overshadow the smaller ones. Though in my experience, it’s the smaller, more intimate events that are often the most memorable.
This Thursday (6/14), one of those can’t miss smaller events will be hosted by the Pink Boots Society and PDXBeerGirl: a tap takeover and panel discussion showcasing Portland’s female brewers and their fermented creations.
It’s all happening from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Chapel Hill on SE Hawthorne. The panel discussion, starting at 7pm and moderated by Holly Amlin, founder of PDXBeerGirl.com, will shed some light on the work being done by these newest brewers on the Oregon scene.
The Portland Chapter of Pink Boots is a local iteration of the Pink Boots Society, a nonprofit group who’s mission is to assist, inspire, and encourage women beer professionals through education.
They will also be raffling off various swag from the different breweries and $1 from each pint purchased will be donated to the Pink Boots Society.
The panelists will include:
Lauren Yap – Brewer at Base Camp Brewing Company
Cat Wiest – Brewer at Pelican Brewing Company (Tillamook)
Nina Houts – Brewer at Hopworks Urban Brewery
Angie Watkins – Production at Modern Times PDX
Kelsey Cable – Assistant Brewer at Wayfinder Beer
Anne Aviles – Brewer at Breakside Brewery
The tap takeover will feature beer brewed by women from the following breweries:
Send It IPA – Base Camp Brewing
Raspberried at Sea – Pelican Brewing
Sunset Fuel Hazy IPA – Hopworks Urban Brewery
Abaddon Export Helles (collab with Wayfinder) – Modern Times PDX
Espresso Pils – Wayfinder Beer
Fourth Wave Barrel-aged Coffee Beer – Breakside Brewing
Dry-hopped Coastal – Heater Allen Brewing
Billini Brutale (collab with Bauman’s Cider) – Culmination Brewing
