If you’ve ever found yourself wandering the streets of the Pearl District in the Summertime, you’ve no doubt seen those 15 person bike contraptions, pushing beer patrons around town in the pursuit of various pints.
Now you’re going to see even more of them, now throughout SE Portland.
BrewGroup, owners of BrewCycle, BrewBarge, and Backpedal Brewing, have already set up shop on the East bank of the Willamette, operating their new 6 person bikes out of a new location at 737 SE Sandy Blvd.
This new operation offers two new routes: The Bottoms Up Route ventures to Burnside Brewing, Base Camp Brewing, and Rogue Eastside; The Triple Threat Route heads to Schilling Cider House, Lucky Lab, and Loyal Legion.
BrewCycle is a multi-person bike that takes riders to different breweries around the city. Led by a BrewGroup driver, each ride stops at three breweries where riders have 25 minutes to enjoy a beer before jumping back on the bike and taking in the neighborhood sights.
“We are thrilled to be expanding to the Eastside,” says Andrea Lins, founder and owner of BrewGroup. “A BrewCycle ride is the perfect way to experience Portland’s amazing beer scene; nothing builds camaraderie like a pub crawl on a giant bike.”
At present, Backpedal’s beer options won’t be available on-site at the new location as they are in the Pearl, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
BrewCycle rides are offered Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bookings can be made online or by calling 971-400-5950.
Founded in 2011, BrewGroup offers pedal-powered fun to Portland locals and visitors. BrewGroup offers BrewCycle rides in northwest and southeast Portland and BrewBarge excursions on the scenic Willamette River. BrewGroup also brews its own award-winning craft beer at Back Pedal Brewing, a nanobrewery in Portland’s Pearl District. Self-proclaimed as the “most Portland thing you can do,” BrewGroup provides its customers with opportunities to drink, pedal, repeat.
