Bean to Bar: Portland Beer Week’s Newest Event Features Beer & Chocolate Pairings

bean_to_bar copy

It’s not every year that Portland Beer Week initiates a new event. And it’s only during this week of the year that one-of-a-kind happenings like Snackdown and the Beer & Cheese Fest take place, not to mention all those intriguing panel discussions. They only happen during what’s become Christmas for beer lovers in Portland.

Continuing in this tradition is “Bean to Bar, A Chocolate and Beer Festival” which is set to go down at Ruse Brewing (inside the Iron Fireman Collective at SE 17th & Schiller) this Sunday from 1 to 5pm. It’s all being co-sponsored by Ruse and Xocolatl de David, an award-winning purveyor of locally handmade chocolates.

The event will showcase ten local chocolatiers, each presenting unique cacao confections to be paired with beers from the Pacific Northwest, chosen to complement the chocolate in question.

Each purchased ticket for admission includes a branded Bean to Bar glass, 3 drink tickets, free chocolate sampling, plus a $7 coupon towards the purchase of chocolate to take home. VIP tickets include all of the above, plus an hour early entrance to sample before the crowds, as well as a 33 Chocolates tasting notebook.

Be sure to check out the following links and details about each of the breweries and chocolatiers involved below. I look forward to seeing you there on Sunday!
